Monk
Does anyone else feel they cannot defend themselves when they play a monk? Whenever I play a monk I have no problems keeping others alive, but I have yet to find a skill thats really good for keeping myself alive. Does anyone have any monk tips of keeping yourself alive in a pvp battle? I try guardian, but I still get owned in seconds.

I'm normally facing rangers and warriors at the same time that use interrupt skills, and normally all my heal spells, I bring like 3 and sometimes 4, get big time delay and I get hacked.

I run a classic boon prot build. With RoF and Gaurdian I usually can sustain myself, of course Often I will even have to employ CoP for an even greater heal and in order to grab some quick energy (obviously in conjunction with MoR). Kiting is also a necessary component of monking *See monk thread for that. If you see 2-3 players targeting you, run. Running is not a bad thing for a monk. Pre Gaurdian just before they get to you so that it won't be interrupted. Spam RoF on yourself as needed. Of course in the end, being a successful boon prot monk in TA is really founded on experience. Go out there and get stomped on 10 matches in a row, you eventually improve. |

For 4v4 PvP here is the best monk build IMO: Boon Prot Monk Gaurdian RoF Contemplation of Purity Signet of Devotion Holy Veil Mantra of Recall {E} Mend Condition Divine Boon How to use the build is actually quite complicated for a first time boon proter... For more information, SEE Maxiemonster's -Huge - Boon Prot guide! http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s....php?t=3041277 I hope this helps |

Yep this is for PvP, I'm normally healer, thats why I have a lot of healing spells rather than protection spells. What you mean best protection vs warrior is to kite? I dont normally bring spells that hurt for duration of time and run around, if thats kiting. How about rangers? They keep interupting me, and make my spells recharge extra 30 seconds or something. Whats best advice for mesmer blackout? I went to random arena in international and didnt know all rank 6+ plays there and I got blackout and died within seconds. I think they blackout'd me and crippled shot me, and got me down.
I'll try out that set, ender6. |
